Hi, my name is Lucie. I live in Miami, Florida. I work as a yacht captain and yacht charter broker. I like to go to the gym. I like to stretch, cook, and I’m into healthy lifestyle.

Where are you from?

I’m from Czech Republic. My mom is Czech and my dad is Spanish.

What brought you to Miami?

I moved mainly for the weather because in my country it’s cold most of the year. I like really hot and tropical environments.

How long have you been doing yoga and how did you get into it?

I got into yoga because I go to the gym often and I work out. My muscles are always sore, so I started stretching. Stretching is very close to yoga, so it’s kind of connected. I kind of float into yoga through stretching.

What’s your favorite yoga pose?

My favorite yoga pose is Warrior.

Why do you practice yoga and other forms of self-care?

I really like to stretch after my gym training because it feels good for the muscles and it keeps the cardio nice and lean. It’s good for everything, for your mind, body. I didn’t like it that much at the beginning. I grew into it and I started liking it once I was getting more flexible and kept practicing. It was a little bit of a process for me to get into it. It took me some time to get into it and start liking it very much.

What are the emotional and mental benefits of the practice?

It’s calming. For me, it’s like a form of meditation. I can’t usually meditate, as in lay down and let my mind just not think. During yoga, I can really concentrate on my body and I take my mind off of everything. That’s the best benefit for me.

What advice would you give to yourself from 10 years ago or when you were starting yoga?

Advice I would give myself when I was starting yoga would be to be patient and consistent because it’s a journey, it’s a process and you have to enjoy the way and be patient and consistent.

What’s your favorite food?

My favorite food is seafood.

Where can we follow you online?
